PRONE home: the big 3 0 !

It's been a blur of birthdays over the past couple of weeks.  My best friend and sister-in-law both turned 30 in back to back weekends.  It was glorious.  The first party was hosted at my home and so I threw together some fun DIY party decor.  The pink tassel fringe was super easy and plucked right off Pinterest.  Below are a few photos of the home.  Let me know if you have any questions on how to create any of it!  Glad to fill you in or point you to the right blog to help!

 1. bar set up (I used mismatched cocktail glasses for a vintage/eclectic look)
 2. a bouquet of sparkly drink stirs placed in a vintage copper mug
 3. a tribute to my friend Mandii on a large chalk board for guests to read
 4. photo backdrop from balloons

Completely and utterly intrigued by the sculpture installations by Katharina Trudzinski.  I am feeling very inspired, specifically, by these amazing wall to floor (or floor to wall) installs.  Her paintings and other sculptures are just as beautiful and equally inspiring as well.

London Fashion Week (LFW)

After perusing a few fashion blogs that were highlighting some of the runway shows in London I was more taken by the trends on the street.  This comes as no big surprise, as many of the runway looks are over the top and of course the street looks are more attainable for a simple peasant like me.  HA.  Here are 3 looks I love for fall; all include a wonderfully tangerine piece.

Ladies and Gentlemen

Ahem.... While you may assume with this post title that I am about to make a grand announcement, I am in fact just highlighting the work of a couple of designers out of Seattle that I am loving.  I stumbled across Jean Lee's pin boards on Pinterest and found that I was in love with everything she "pinned."  It wasn't until recently that I discovered that she is the creator behind these amazing objects.  Her (and her gentleman's) new designs are modern and clean, but retain a vintage quirkiness about them.  Here is an excerpt from their blog regarding their latest projects,

"...we've been really obsessed with the combination of copper and brass with woods and leather.  We've always been suckers for nostalgia and I think these materials really strike a reminenscent chord on a different...more fundamental level.  To that end, it only felt appropriate to pair these warm, welcoming materials with minimalist, elemental forms that celebrate the integrity of the materials without any frivolous details.  The resulting collection is a bit of a departure aesthetically from our past products, but a direction we're really excited about!"

Please pop over and visit the Ladies and Gentlemen shop and check out some of their wonderful work.

Design Prone beginings.

This is the start of a creative journey through the world of design (and other life happenings). I have blogged in the past about interesting design and amazing artists, but only periodically and never really delving into the realm of my personal life.  This blog is just another adventure to add to the list of wildly wonderful moments along the way.  I aim to showcase provoking design, great meals, intriguing interiors, and to thrift as much as humanly possible.  This is me. I am prone to wander and wonder; mostly I'm Design Prone.
